Ingredients:
- 1 kg of cleaned Aronia berries
- 3 litres of water
- 1 lemon
- 600 g crystal sugar
- 1 bag (10 g) citric acid
Instructions:
1. Begin by cleaning the Aronia berries, removing any stems and leaves. Wash them thoroughly.
2. Place the cleaned aronia berries in a large pot and crush them slightly using a potato masher or tomato masher.
3. Add water to the pot along with a washed and cut lemon.
4. Cook the mixture over medium heat for 45 minutes.
5. After 45 minutes, add the crystal sugar and the bag of citric acid (10 g). Continue cooking for another 45 minutes at a medium temperature.
6. While the juice is cooking, prepare glass bottles by washing them and then placing them in the oven at 100 degrees Celsius for about 15 minutes to dry and warm up.
7. Turn off the oven and keep the jars warm until the juice is ready.
8. Once the juice is finished cooking, strain it to remove any solids and pour it into the prepared glass bottles. Close the bottles immediately.
9. Allow the juice to cool completely before storing it away. It's recommended to consume the juice within a month for optimal freshness.
10. Enjoy your homemade aronia juice chilled on its own or mixed into your favorite beverages.
