Ricotta Gnocchi with Sage, Sausage, and Mushrooms

Discover the perfect balance of creamy ricotta gnocchi paired with savory sausage and earthy mushrooms. This dish is not only delicious but also simple to prepare, making it a delightful addition to your recipe collection!

The ricotta, sage, sausage, and mushroom gnocchi is a very simple, creamy, and tasty dish to make. I must say that I almost prefer ricotta gnocchi to the classic potato gnocchi. Don’t think that the sage is too strong in terms of flavor—quite the opposite! It gives the gnocchi a very delicate flavor that pairs wonderfully with the sausage and mushrooms. Here’s what you need to make ricotta, sage, sausage, and mushroom gnocchi, just like I did.

Ingredients:

- For the gnocchi, refer to your favorite recipe

- 2 sausages, minced

- 1 pack of fresh mushrooms, sliced

- Oil

- 1 pack of small cooking cream

- Half a glass of milk (only if necessary)

- Parmesan, optional

Instructions:

1. Prepare the gnocchi according to your preferred recipe and set aside.

2. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil.

3. In a large pan, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the minced sausage and brown well.

4. Once the sausage is cooked, add the sliced mushrooms. Season with salt and cook for a few minutes until the mushrooms are tender.

5. Add the cooking cream to the pan and mix well with the sausage and mushrooms.

6. Start cooking the gnocchi in the boiling water. As the gnocchi rise to the surface, drain them and transfer them directly into the pan with the sauce.

7. Mix the gnocchi well with the sauce. If the mixture seems too dry, add half a glass of milk and stir to combine.

8. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, if desired, and serve immediately.

Enjoy your Ricotta Gnocchi with Sage, Sausage, and Mushrooms, a dish that brings together the comforting flavors of Italian cuisine. Buon appetito!
